You’re taking your time,
reading all the books before sundown
but today you told me that you were going to finish all your
research before 6.
This may or may not happen
because you are falling faster than you feel comfortable
with.
Revelling in the kisses,
life has a funny way of throwing
obstacles in the way of love,
lust, or otherwise.
But, you know your direction.
You are ready to follow the quick-step
rhythm of your dancer’s heart,
anything else beside that will be peanuts
and that is okay right now.
Because life doesn’t stop or start with
the opening of your lips,
life doesn’t stop or start with
the opening of your books.
A wise woman once said to
never stop or start anything during finals
and yes,
she was talking about matters of the heart
sometimes though,
it’s worth the risk,
the plunge,
the distraction.
