Day 14: Verbs have feelings too.

I close my eyes.
droop drop down the way I feel on
early mornings.

All I want to do today is put together words,
rearranging the letters,
inventing my own inventions

But, I’ve been doubting myself lately,
forgetting that words are just verbalizations of
heartbeats
the only way to communicate the sound of eyelashes
before sleep.

Last night, someone told me that verbs have feelings
and he’s probably right
but I hadn’t thought of it like that before
so my heart kind of stopped
just so I could practice
feeling touch
feeling beg
feeling run.

I mean,
I always knew that at least
1/3 of nouns felt
and I’ve spent most of my degree
asserting that punctuation feels
but verbs have been forgotten

and verbs feel the most of all.

Last night I realized that I need to reconstruct my
ideas of language
be more playful
mess things up a bit

feel drink
feel scream
feel write.
